He has not yet begun his heartworm treatment. He has issues with his throat that cause him to cough and wheeze. He's getting stronger each day, but remains in a weakened state.
Be that as it may, it's astonishing to compare photos!

Keep it up Skells!!

The difference is astounding!
ReplyDeleteThat first picture breaks my heart. I cannot fathom why anyone would purposely do that to a dog!
He's such a beautiful boy. That first picture makes me want to cry.
ReplyDeleteGive my grand dog a big ole smooch for me.

As we've watched Skelly thrive, I'd forgotten just what an awful condition he was in when he arrived on your porch, Wesley. Hugs'n'headbutts comin' to ya from B'more for an exceptional job! And headbutts to Skells from his friends, too!
ReplyDeleteHE LOOKS PERFECT!

Visiting from BPOTW. This is heartbreaking. You are an angel to take Skeletor in and rehabilitate him.
ReplyDeleteIt warms our hearts to see Skelly doing so well. Thank yoo so much for helping him. He is a lucky boy to have found yoo all.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all of your positive comments! Skelly's lucky to have such great friends :)
ReplyDeleteOh..PS
ReplyDeleteWhen does he start his heartworm treatment? And have they given you any idea how to keep him still and calm while he's undergoing the treatment?
Love Mom
Oh what an amazing difference!! And thank you so much for helping him become the beautiful, healthy (well mostly at least) boy he is today!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know when he will begin his heartworm treatment. We are taking him back to the vet this week and they are going to do another blood test.
ReplyDeleteIf his red cell count is good, then they may begin his treatment. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Its so great that you are taking care of Skelly and getting him so healthy! You are doing a really good thing! Keep it up!! I want to rescue a dog so bad, but I don't have 100% agreement on this yet. YET~!
