Skelly! There are starving char-pei's in China!

This silly hound has a new hobby as of late. I'm not sure why, but he often gets the insatiable urge to dump his bowl of food all over the ground.

I know what you're thinking... "Skelly would never do such a thing!"

I present to you, exhibit no. 1...

Looking mighty guilty, Skeletor! That would be what's left of his breakfast in the foreground and the remains of his lunch in the background.

You can't help but chuckle at the irony... In February when he appeared on the scene, this walking skeleton was down to about 36lbs. Today, he's almost 60lbs and such a spoiled brat, that he decorates the porch with Purina One. (for those who don't know, Purina One is NOT the cheap stuff :)

Oh... just in case nobody gets the title of this post.
I can remember hearing this over and over when I was a kid any time me or my brothers were being picky eaters...

"Finish your dinner you little ingrate! There are starving children in China!"

  2. Ok, first I can't wait to see your mom's response to your "you little ingrate" part of the comment! And well, I have to say that the cats have been known to do that too. They put food on the floor all the time because sometimes they like to eat off the floor. I think it adds flavor. Of course sometimes they just crash into the food by accident too.

And can I tell you that when I read Purina One my mind instantly went "why are they feeding him cat food" because I of course didn't think that the same company also makes dog food!

  3. I'd always heard that if they had to miss a meal or two, that would cure the leaving food around! But then again, what do I know? :)

  4. Aww Skelly is just being a silly skelly! :-) But there are always reasons why furry creatures do things! Maybe he doesn't like the colour of his food bowls? :-)

Awww great to see him all strong and frisky!

    take care

  6. I remember my mom telling me to eat my dinner because there were starving kids in China too!

I had a cat who would push his food out of the bowl as he ate and onto the floor, then he'd come meow at me that he was hungry. I'd pick the food up off the floor that he didn't eat, put it back in the bowl and he was a happy kitty then!

  7. My friend had a cat that would pick up one piece of kibble with her paw to eat it. One piece and a time... over and over and over. Heaven forbid she should actually have to eat out of the bowl!!
